Heywood CC 2nd XI v Moorside CC 2nd XI

Start delayed for one hour due to ground conditions. Reduced to 37 overs per innings. Heywood won the toss and chose to field. Outfield lush and soft so boundaries were at a premium. Moorside were all out for 96 from 35 overs. Top scorer Lloyd with 33. Something of a collapse from the middle order onwards with six wickets falling for just 21 runs. Moorside started well with a wicket for Paul B in his first over. After he and Jak were replaced by Lloyd and John the runs dried up somewhat with tight bowling from both ends. Their 24 overs cost just 55 runs. However, Heywood 'keeper Booth played carefully for his 34 n/o and although it was down to the last over, Heywood crawled past the Moorside score.
