2nd XI v Ashton CC - 30th April 2017

Ashton CC won the toss and put a depleted Moorside 2nds in. All three Lords featured but more of that later. Dave Walters is back with Moorside after a "resting" for a couple of seasons. Great to see although you almost didn't as he was bowled for a golden! Practice DW practice! Not to worry John H joined by skipper Lloyd K and they put on 134 before John was out behind for 51 from 69 a pacey innings by anybody's standards particularly his! Lloyd was joined by spin-twin (think Arnie and Danny DeVito) Tony Redmondo who soon departed for 7. Lord #1 (Reece) went for 0 and then erstwhile scorer Ben "Renegade" Ashley joined the skipper and they pushed the score on to 209 for 4 from 46 (46??) overs. Lloyd K 132 n/o and Ben 10 n/o. Well batted!
Tea and then Ashton CC put on their pads and rather quickly were 66-5 until skipper Adshead held things steady for a while. The innings ended at 104/8 after 40 overs (not sure how but there we are...) The aforementioned spin twins shared the wickets at 3 a piece, with one Run-out from Lord #2 (Ethan) and a wicket for John Howarth. Lord#3 didn't trouble the scorebook with a steady "Did Not Bat". MOM Lloydie yeh!
