Brief report as only saw the Moorside innings. Having restricted Milnrow to 215 a/o with extras being the second top scorer behind the pro, Milnrow were something of a batting one-man-band. 215 off 50 overs is a below par score. However, the Moorside innings was a list of "if-onlys".
If only Ron Avenger, having got his first 50, didn't get giddy and top-edged the Milnrow pro to mid off;
If only Swampy had pushed on from his 29 from 41;
If only the umpire hadn't heard Harry Mouse's bat click and not the ball on it;
If only Danny hadn't lifted the ball straight to wide mid on after getting in and looking like carrying his bat;
If only Usain Balti hadn't missed his first ball from the pro (I know!);
If only Pip had played his shot cow corner on the ground;
If only Warby had just carried on as he was; and
If only Matty had run his first run to the popping crease and not the return on his first run he'd have made his ground on the second run.
Anyway close but no cigar, well batted Sneaky who kept his head when all around lost there's, and well bowled Drew, Warby and Ron. Not well caught whoever dropped the pro in his 30's.
Heyside next on Friday (T-20) and Tanner Cup on Saturday. Harry Mouse is pawing the ground in readiness.
