Having missed the match due to stand-in umpire duties for the 2nd XI, the 1st team reported back on their time at Shaw. Apparently the umpires recommended abandoning the match, initially, due to the lack of preparedness of the wicket (i.e. there wasn't one). Then later a second XI track was discovered at the edge of the square, so play went on. Shaw won the toss and inserted Moorside on to the "wicket from Hell". Needless to say, 104 all out was the predictable score with Saj Mahmood rumbling in and mysterious overseas amateur Jamel Stuart picking up 4 for 8 from 3.5 overs, three of which we maidens. Shaw then proceeded to roll the wicket for 20 minutes or more and knocked them off for 2 wickets with Mahmood on 24 and 23 for Stuart.
