1st XI v Hollinwood 2016-05-14

A cool day in Lime Lane despite the sun. Arrived with Hollinwood on 90 for 2 with less than half the overs gone. Hollinwood, despite not registering a pro for the season, mysteriously had a deputy-pro, an Aussie from Todmorden. How does that work then? Anyway he proceeded to take a single of the first ball of each over followed by 5 dots with remarkable regularity. Immy got him in the end LBW playing all round a straight one. Before that the collapse had begun and they finished on 131 all out with I Khan 5 for 43 from 11.3 overs. Glen Mac chipped in with a frugal 2-25 from 11 and JT with 1 for 35. The other two were run-outs, I missed the first one but Tommy swooping in the covers scored a direct hit to remove Aslam without him facing a ball. Tea-time and Bainesy and Immy followed each other out to the crease. No real alarms until RB took the cover off a drive to point and the "guest pro" (who shall remain nameless - see score card!) managed to hold on to it, more in shock than design. Immy soon followed LBW for 17. This left Hodders and Jack G to see the match to a conclusion putting on 95. The Jagster now has an average of 132 after two 2nd XI and one 1st XI innings! Early days yet but what a start!
