Rained off on Saturday so back to play on Sunday
A very brief report....
No play on Saturday and with the Jagster at Park Life along with half the Second XI on Sunday, Paul Broadhurst was brought in. An unseasonably stormy week had not allowed the ground to be tended as it might have been and following Saturday's downpour the covered wicket was damp to say the least. However, play started on time with Moorside winning the toss and batting. Ron Avenger, after much pestering, finally got his normal batting position as opener. Immy again returned to open in the absence of Jack. 43 runs were assembled quickly from 6 overs before Ron danced down, missed one and was stumped for 24 from 24 balls with 2o in boundaries. Swampy next and after a brief flurry stepped back so far to cut the ball he whacked his own bails off! Enter a brooding Harry Mouse who had just spent a few days in Scotland being told he couldn't play by the new Namibia coach because of his dodgy shoulder. With steam still coming out of his ears, he ground 44 from 74 (an unusually slow rate for him) while everyone else was getting out around him. A below par 159 all out set Werneth what appeared to be an easy target. It wasn't and they didn't, 56 all out with a five-for for Drew and a three-for for Swampy all in 24.4 overs. MoM: D Fullalove for a tail end 14 and his 10 overs, 5 mdns, 5 for 22.
