Not a good day for taking photos, as the moor grime rolled in from Austerlands. However, Harry’s girlfriend Audrey arrived yesterday. Overnight she had been massaging his (ahem) shoulder. This must have been effective as he batted out of his tree. For all of the Moorside innings and half of the Monton innings you could just about see the far wall and a pink ball flying over it.
On the intro pic, you can just about make out Harry Mouse and Sneaky looking for the middle. It cleared later and a few snaps captured the last couple of wickets.
Pip Taylor opened with Ronnie Venger and they quickly pushed to 44 before Ron missed one and was bowled. Harry Mouse strolled in and repeated the T-20 innings he played against Moorside up at Micklehurst a few years ago. He posted 107 n/o from 49 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes. Pip hit 43 from 31, Swampy, 22 from 17 and Usain Balti 15 from 10. With 27 extras 226 for 3 was, according to a rather chirpy Monton player, a par score for them.
Unfortunately, Chirpy was out the ball after he changed his bat and the par for the day was 163 all out from 18.5 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Immy again with 4 for 14 from 4.0 overs, The Jagster and Swampy chipped in with 2 apiece and Ron and Drew, 1 each. You can see for miles and miles now even to Monton?
MoM? Harry Mouse for a splendid knock.
