A bit of confusion over the Moorside score to say the least.....

No photos today. Bit of a chilly breeze from the northern quarter but when the sun was out, a glorious day. Oldham won the toss and chose to field. Ronnie Venger and Jack G opened. The Jagster had arrived home early from his week in Benidorm so as to play. His highlight of the day was collecting his Test Match ticket for Sunday so he could sit with the Moorside Gang. Apart from that his batting was rusty and his fielding interesting. Ron Avenger, having paraded his three bats in his bedroom window all week decided to select the one that scores quick runs but also plays sh1t shots across the line. Fortunately the button for sh1t shots didn't function for a good while and he plundered a quick 60 from almost as many balls. The Jagster strolled off for 3 from 15. Swampy had been experiencing a lean spell with the bat, but struck out from the start and hit 28 before being bowled by Imran Khan (theirs not ours). Harry Mouse next and here and there the scoring started to go pear-shaped. At one point there appeared to be 5 people in the score box with nobody apart from Jenna knowing what they were doing. Harry scored 79 (probably) including a six over long on into the primary school field. Immy scored 33 although it could have been 44 (who knows?). After that it was all a bit silly with the last 5 wickets going for almost as many runs. The final score was 231 all out although the score board said 222. Time for tea which for most of the 'side involved a trip to Watersheddings Chippy (the Oldham teas don't get any better, despite the umpires complaining a couple of League meetings ago).
Oldham's innings was long and tedious with 119 runs (probably) from 45 overs (maybe). Warby was the pick of the Moorside attack with 6 for 38 from 15 overs (possibly). Drew's radar was a bit dodgy today and he came off after 6 overs and then danced around the outfield in a playful manner. Harry was also in "fun-mode" as he tried to keep the fielding side awake during the most tedious batting seen for a while. Immy picked up 4-31 from 14 overs and Ron was wicket-less for 10 runs from 6. This was mainly due to the clueless batsmen failing to get an edge otherwise it could have been all over 40 minutes' early. Percy kept well today (Pip having pulled his back out, despite taking two spectacular catches at first slip). Dive of the day? Immy at point to save a four closely followed by Warby off his own bowling to save nothing. After his spell Warby was excused duties as he was off to a gay wedding. All in all a day to forget....
