In effect a T-20 due to delayed start (weather)
Just a few pics of the Moorside innings with Swampy and Immy at the crease to start with. at 11:00 as predicted it started to rain, around 15:30 as predicted it started to clear. By then those on the team who thought it would be a washout had tried a sherbet or two and got the taste.....
Having taken tea early what became a T-20 started around 17:00 with Moorside's (having been inserted by Hollinwood) Ron Avenger and Pip (can't see us starting today) Taylor opening up. 14-1 with Pip out caught for 14 from 7. Enter the G-Man at No. 3. Exactly 50 before Ron was bowled for 21 from 19. Swampy next adding 30 in partnership with Gerrie who was out for 43 from 23 (7x4 and 3x6). Immy's batting boots have been on this season and he had a red-inker on 41 from 24 with 3-3's and 3-6's and an oxygen tent running in the last few overs with Sneaky who was also not out on 13 (all run). 170 from 20 is an excellent T-20 first innings score and always too much for Hollinwood. They did have a go though and finished on 131 for 7 achieving a batting point. As you can imagine the Moorside bowling figures reflected the run chase with Warby guesting for the match in Jamie Taylor's absence (girlfriend and Blackpool?) going for 38 from 6 with two wickets. Drew marginally more frugal with 1 for 32 from 6. Ronnie Venger ruined his bowling average to date, but took one for the team encouraging the sloggers to get out which two of them did. Immy was the pick with 2 for 16 from 4 and for that and his batting wins today's MoM award.
