Arrived at the end of the Moorside innings just to see Antonio Redmondo whack a six (I know!!) over mid on. Some dispute over this but the fielder clearly tipped it over the line. Bit of a sorry state as soon after Atif missed one and we were all out for 123. Word on the street was the pitch and roller had fallen out with each other in April and hadn't spoken since. Anyway "same for both sides" as the saying goes. What became clear was it didn't suit the quicker bowlers after Tommy picked up just the 1 wicket and Atif none. Had a chat before the match with Lloydie who said he'd fancied a chuck at Milnrow the day before and he got his wish today after Immy had replaced Atif at the bottom end. Immy was turning it sideways and bowled his 10 overs for just 13 runs and collected two wickets. Lloyd was more expensive at 2-29 off 7 but got a stumping and a catch for his efforts. Swampy was the pick with two spells down the hill. His 9 overs included 9 maidens with 4 for 16. Skipper Danny bowled himself with a creditable 1 for 6 from 6. So into Round 2 of the Wood Cup (draw to be determined on 31st May).
