Viridor Credits Opportunities for Communities supports Moorside Cricket & Bowling Club

Moorside Cricket & Bowling Club is delighted to announce that it is to receive a grant for nearly £30,000 to build a brand new two-lane cricket enclosed practice facility to replace its existing cricket nets which are now over 20 years old.

The new nets will conform to the latest England & Wales Cricket Board construction standards. Club chairman, Linda Mitchell said

"This new facility which we hope will be built before the start of the 2019 cricket season will be available to the local community, including schools, as well as the five senior and junior teams at the Club. Also, it's just in time for the launch of our women's and girls' softball cricket which started earlier this month.

"The Club is very grateful for the support it received in its bid to Viridor Credits from local schools, community groups, councillors, club members and parents of our junior players. In particular, we want to thank Royton Cricket Club for the helpful advice they were able to offer, having gone through a similar process a few years ago."
